Pienaar and Son Orient Gin sings of the spices, citrus fruits, vanilla and ginger that were brought to Cape Town with the slaves from Madagascar and East Africa. This part of South Africas history is often not told, yet is forms the foundation of much of the cuisine of the Cape. This gin pays homage to the diverse people of South Africa, particularly the Cape Malay people and the space they occupy in the diverse population of the country.
